The truth of life...
Allah (Exalted be He) says: “The day when wealth and children avail not any man, but only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.” (Ash-Shu`araa’ 26:88-89)
I want to introduce a short story taken from French Literature and related to this interview
He verse says: “The day when wealth and children avail not any man, but only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.” (Ash-Shu`araa’ 26:88-89)
Lost his way in the desert, he kept walking until exhausted
Then, almost dying of thirst, he reached a little oasis where there’s water and a palm tree
While sitting down by the pool to drink he turned around
To see a bag full beside the pool thinking it’s of bread
Because after drinking he was starving to death, yes
Opened the bag he found pearls that are worth billions but out there in city
“Alas! It’s pearls!”, he screamed
The point is pearls are worth billions, but in desert a loaf of bread to eat is what one needs
He said: “Alas! It’s pearls!”
And I say: “The day when wealth and children avail not any man”
One’s financial position, their millions, their bank balances, their luxury cars
Their beautiful palaces with beautiful gardens and stunning views and swimming pools
Put differently, with death, all luxuries of life come to an end in a second
All one has collected over the years throughout all stages of life, all the positions they has ascended to
until he reached the climax, comes death and taking them away from them
Here he is, empty-handed. This who crossed desert and wilderness
And almost died of thirst, he drank the moment he saw pool water
Feeling hunger pangs, upon opening the bag lying there he screamed: “Alas! It’s pearls!”
That day pearls wouldn’t benefit him at all
That bag of pearls that is worth billions
But that day pearls wouldn’t benefit him at all
